Intro
Covid pandemic had multiple impacts on population ageing. Across the globe impact is seen on demographic trends, economic situation, health care systems and services, physical and mental health of individuals. The effect seen in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) compared to high income countries (HICs) especially in terms of increasing health inequalities calls for serious consideration of various concerns related to morbidities, mortality patterns, the yet unknown impact of long covid and future of populations given the challenges of ageing. How to tackle the challenges requires rethinking to bring in optimism.
